Renunciation

After receiving instructions on self-realization from his son, Kapila, Kardama Muni circumambulated Him, and with a pacified mind, he left for the forest. There he took a vow of silence in order to think of the Supreme Personality of Godhead and take shelter of Him exclusively.

At the time of dissolution

Devahuti on Kapila 'At the time of dissolution the Lord sometimes appears as a small baby lying on a leaf of a banyan tree, floating on the devastating water. Therefore Devahuti suggests, "Your lying down within the abdomen of a common woman like me is not so astonishing. You can lie down on the leaf of a banyan tree and float on the water of devastation as a small baby. It is not very wonderful, therefore, that You can lie down in the abdomen of my body." Since all the great sages and devotees apply all energy and all activities in the service of the lotus feet of the Lord, there must be some transcendental pleasure in the toes of His lotus feet. The Lord licks His toe to taste the nectar for which the devotees always aspire.' -Srimad Bhagavatam, 3.33.4, purport

Result of 10000 Years of Penance

Kardama Muni meditated in yoga for a period of ten thousand years, just to please the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Then, in Satya-yuga, Kardama Muni attained success and the lotus-eyed Supreme Lord showed him His transcendental form. Kardama Muni saw the Lord, in His eternal form, effulgent like the sun, wearing yellow silk, and adorned with a crown and earrings. The Supreme Lord stood in the air with His lotus feet on the shoulders of Garuda. When Kardama saw the Lord, he was completely satisfied and filled with love of God, and he fell on the ground to offer obeisances unto His lotus feet. -Srimad Bhagavatam, Canto 2, Chapter 21

Conversation Between Manu and Kardama

Regaining Youth through Yogic Power

PURPORT
Before her marriage, when Devahuti was brought by her parents before the sage Kardama, she was the perfectly beautiful princess, and Kardama Muni remembered her former beauty. But after her marriage, when she was engaged in the service of Kardama Muni, she neglected to care for her body like a princess, since there was no means for such care; her husband was living in a cottage, and since she was always engaged in serving him, her royal beauty disappeared, and she became just like an ordinary maidservant. Now, after being bathed by the Gandharva girls by the order of Kardama Muni’s yogic power, she regained her beauty, and Kardama Muni felt attracted to the beauty she had shown before the marriage.
